Sports Massage is a deep soft tissue massage which is specific to the individual and focuses on managing and preventing injuries. This can be general wear-and-tear from injuries which anyone who routinely pushes themselves to their limits will benefit from. This can include, swimming, martial arts, cycling, running, racquet sports and resistance training and many more. You do not specifically need to participate in exercise to feel the benefit of a deep tissue massage.
Most people enjoy deep tissue massage to stretch out those tight muscles especially if they are using their bodies strenuously for example, gardening, mothers with children, stressful and demanding occupations, all of which will also greatly benefit from sports and therapeutic massage therapy.
The psychological and physical benefits make it an ideal complement to support any fitness program and help to maintaining a healthy balanced lifestyle.
